For Star Water Filter® systems and most gravity-fed filtration systems: Berkey, Weeplow, Euroguard, Coldstream, British Berkefeld.
Mini Star, Big Star and Super Star: the same cartridges for all three sizes.
These two models can accommodate up to four cartridges to increase the flow rate. The Mini Star is designed for two cartridges.
The matching thread allows these additional filters to be fitted.
Height: 21.8 cm excluding the threaded stem. Diameter: 6.8 cm. Check the space available in your chamber. If you are unsure about compatibility, ask our team for advice before ordering.
Documented performance
The tests track performance at several volumes: up to 3,200 L per cartridge for the relevant chemical tests and 3,000 L for the relevant microbiological tests. Here are six examples from the reports.

Using clean, potable water, prime each cartridge for around one minute with the Starter or washer, following the guide.
After priming, leave the cartridges to soak for at least 30 minutes, then install them according to your system’s instructions.
Carry out two complete filtration cycles without drinking the water produced. You can drink the water from the third cycle onwards.
Clean the chambers and tap regularly. If the flow rate drops, check priming, installation and the cartridge surfaces, then follow the maintenance guide. The indicative flow rate of 14–16 L/h applies to a new pair and varies with conditions of use.
Ideally, consume filtered water within 24 hours, and within 48 hours at the latest. Keep track of the volume filtered: the nominal capacity is 6,000 L per pair. The guideline of around two years depends on your consumption, water and maintenance. Cleaning does not reset the volume already filtered.
With its multilayer filtration technology combining activated carbon and a electroadsorptive membrane, Ultimate Star Filter® helps you enjoy better-filtered water every day. A high-performance, self-contained solution that needs no electricity, designed to give you greater freedom and peace of mind.

FAQ
Compatibility, initial setup, performance and maintenance: the essential answers.
The pack contains two Ultimate Star Filter® cartridges, their seals and nuts, a Starter and a priming washer.
They fit the Mini Star, Big Star and Super Star and are compatible with most Berkey, Weeplow, Euroguard, Coldstream and British Berkefeld gravity-fed systems. Check the available space: each cartridge is 21.8 cm high excluding the threaded stem and 6.8 cm in diameter.
Yes. Ultimate Star Filter® cartridges have the matching thread to accommodate Berkey® PF-2™ filters. Also check the space available in your system’s lower chamber.
The nominal capacity is 3,000 L per cartridge, or 6,000 L per pair. The guideline of around two years depends on your consumption, water quality and maintenance. Track the volume filtered and follow the usage recommendations to plan replacement.
A new pair has an indicative flow rate of 14–16 L/h, which varies with the water level, water quality and cartridge condition. With water containing very little suspended matter, flow can be considerably faster. Big Star and Super Star can accommodate four cartridges to increase the flow rate and bring the combined nominal capacity of the installed cartridges to 12,000 L. The Mini Star is designed for two cartridges.
In general, Ultimate Star Filter® cartridges do not remove dissolved minerals, preserving calcium and magnesium. They are not designed to soften water or prevent limescale, and they do not desalinate seawater.
Yes. Prime each cartridge with clean, potable water using the Starter or washer, then leave it to soak for at least 30 minutes. Do not drink the water from the first two complete filtration cycles. You can drink the water from the third cycle onwards. Read the full guide.
The reports cover PFAS including TFA, metals including lead, pesticides including chlordecone, chlorine, pharmaceutical residues and microplastics. The microbiological tests use organisms including E. coli and MS2 bacteriophage. Each result must be read alongside its test conditions and volume. View the results and reports.
Ultimate Star Filter® combines complementary filtration technologies to reduce a wide range of contaminants found in water, including certain heavy metals, pesticides, chemical residues and microorganisms. Its performance is documented by independent laboratory analyses. For the conditions of use and precautions appropriate to your water source, please consult our usage recommendations.
Clean the chambers and tap regularly and follow the guide for cartridge maintenance, periods away and restarting the system. Ideally, consume filtered water within 24 hours, and within 48 hours at the latest. If the flow rate drops, check priming, installation and cartridge surfaces; cleaning does not reset the capacity already used. Read the usage advice.
