What hygiene precautions should I follow when using my Star Water Filter® system?

What hygiene precautions should I follow with my Star Water Filter® system?

Star Water Filter® systems are designed for standalone domestic use, without connection to the water network and without integration into a fixed installation.

They can be used with tap water, but also with water whose origin and quality are known, intended for consumption, provided that the precautions for use indicated on the product pages and in the user instructions are followed.

Storage of filtered water

Filtered water is intended to be consumed quickly. It is recommended to consume it within 24 hours after filtration, and within a maximum of 48 hours.

Do not leave water standing for several days in the lower chamber. In the event of a prolonged absence, or if filtered water has remained in the system for more than 48 hours, empty the chamber, clean the system, then refill it with suitable water.

If filtered water is transferred to another container, use a clean, closed container, kept in the refrigerator and away from direct sunlight.

Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning and maintenance of the system must always be carried out with clean, potable water in order to avoid any contamination of the system or the filter cartridges.

Regularly clean the chambers, lid, tap and all parts in contact with water, in accordance with the recommendations in the user instructions. Do not use aggressive, abrasive or non-food-safe products.

Priming and initial setup

Before first use or after any cartridge replacement, priming, rinsing and initial setup must be carried out in accordance with the steps indicated in the user instructions.

Priming must always be carried out with clean, potable water. Do not use spring water, well water, rainwater, river water, tank water or water of unknown quality to prime the cartridges.

Replacement of cartridges

The filter cartridges must be replaced according to the maximum capacity and replacement frequencies recommended by Star Water Filter®. Beyond these recommendations, the stated performance can no longer be guaranteed.

Use only official Star Water Filter® filter cartridges that are compatible with your system. The use of non-official, modified, damaged or incompatible cartridges may affect the operation of the system and the quality of the filtered water.

Limitations of use

The Star Water Filter® system should not be considered a sole and automatic treatment solution in the event of suspected microbiological, chemical or accidental contamination.

Do not use with microbiologically unsafe, suspicious or unknown-quality water without appropriate prior treatment and confirmation that it is suitable for consumption.

If in doubt about the quality of the water, follow the recommendations of the competent health authorities or have an appropriate analysis carried out by a qualified laboratory.
