Maintenance of the Star Water Filter® filtration system
Like any appliance designed to receive and store food for human consumption, it needs to be cleaned from time to time. The main maintenance of Star Water Filter® systems consists of regular cleaning of the components that make up the system: tanks, tap, lid and filters.
These operations should be carried out every 1 to 3 months, depending on the type of water used and its hardness.
For the tanks and lid, simply use soapy water and/or water containing a little vinegar if there is a tendency for limescale to build up. Warning: the filters must never be brought into contact with any product whatsoever.
For the tap: apart from regular external cleaning, if the flow rate decreases significantly, we recommend that you dismantle the tap and treat it with household vinegar to remove the limescale.
As for the filters, gently rubbing the outside surface with a sponge under a trickle of water will remove any activated carbon pores that may be blocked by limescale or sediment. This operation should be carried out a few times during the life of the filter if the flow rate decreases significantly.
These are the only maintenance operations to be carried out on Star Water Filter® systems.
More details on these operations on the maintenance page for your filtration system.
